Zimbabwe’s government, following Vision 2030 has decided to look 45 years back.

They’re finally giving war collaborators houses.

Yes, True Patriots, those forgotten heroes who were left out of the Independence party buffet.

These comrades risked life and limb to help liberation fighters, but after all these decades, they were living in squalor.

Now, after many promises whispered like shy village gossip, the government has a plan — a panicky rally to save face and hand out some bricks and mortar.

While most of these veterans shuffled off this mortal coil before tasting any respect or benefits, the few still alive can now breathe—if only from the dust of these delayed promises.

They will finally get their share, just like the war veterans who’ve been promised houses since time immemorial but still wait.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean youths have been urged to keep calm and carry on suffering. Stable jobs, decent houses, and health benefits?

Those are for the entitled.

Commander Chivende and his ZANU PF crew want youth to embrace the old colonial vibe—hardship, struggle, and endless waiting.

Comrade Christopher Mutsvangwa dropped some wisdom: If young folks feel life is unfair, they should just start their own war of liberation.

After all, freedom doesn’t come wrapped in a shawl—it comes with hardship and patience.

Power, after all, is about who gets what, when, and how.

Democracy and people-centered policies? Pure hogwash.

Better to sit tight and enjoy the bumpy ride.
