The past fortnight has been a tumultuous and frankly pulsating period, filled with disturbing imagery of citizens defying lawful orders to vacate land that the revolutionary party gave them in an effort to canvass votes and put ZANU PF back into power.
Like blinded sheep, the citizens of Ruwa, Epworth, and Retreat Waterfalls were easily hoodwinked into believing that ZANU PF cares about their individual and collective welfare as communities, rather than the self-interests of the party.
The resistance put up by the residents of Ruwa requires further explanation and, at the very least, a more pronounced reaction from the ever-loyal police force under the banner of ZANU PF.
Our beloved revolutionary party has never been one to keep its promises of siding with the people—or even pretending to care in the slightest.
True patriots, to be honest, those blind supporters who gave votes in exchange for promised stands are either dull, stupid, or a cocktail of both.
For now, the land that was given to them is being taken back by force, compounded by blatant demolitions, sacrificing the security and safety of thousands in line with Vision 2030—creating wealth for a few Zviganandaz.
Epworth demolitions are now on the horizon, with 16,500 homes set to be destroyed.
The targeted areas are those that delivered a resounding victory to the party of Trabablas.
Now, having outlived their usefulness, their communities await demolition.
In a few weeks, there shall be weeping, mourning, and gnashing of teeth.
The state stands ready to deploy thousands of militia in the event of resistance.
The habit of casting blame on ZANU PF’s trusted lieutenants and labeling them with degrading titles such as land baron should be stopped forthwith.
These comrades have never been convicted in any court of law; they have only been judged by public opinion, which is normally anti–ZANU PF.
To all those who are victims of demolitions, do not lose heart, but trust in the Bible that says, in our “Father’s house are many mansions.”
Do not despair—for people are only on this earth temporarily, and for a short period of time.
