ICT, Postal, and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera’s song denigrating Acting President Constantino Chiwenga has quickly become the cornerstone of Zimbabwe’s economic vision through telecommunications.

Yes, her fiery song which targets Chiwenga, has single-handedly launched Zimbabwe’s plan to bring internet access to schools, marginalized rural communities, and government offices.

Step aside, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jack Ma, Mavetera’s got both bars and bandwidth.

Last Monday, at the burial of Justin Mupamhanga, Mavetera, leader of Young Women 4 ED, turned Heroes Acre into a high-tech concert venue.

With President Mnangagwa’s cheerleaders in tow, she dropped the lyrical bombshell: “Mupanduki mupanduki chera mwena nguva yakwana” (Sellout, sellout, dig a hole, your time’s up), a pointed jab at Chiwenga, who’s refused to play along with Mnangagwa’s plans for staying in power beyond 2028.

But that’s not all.

Mavetera’s revolutionary anthem didn’t just make headlines, it redefined economics.

Forget about Chinese AI app DeepSeek dethroning ChatGPT, Mavetera’s song has magically turned Zimbabwe’s 2025 budget of ZIG 641.4 million (roughly US$17.8 million) into a staggering US$1 billion fund.

The result? Mavetera awarded two massive contracts to Wicknell Chivayo’s companies.

In one swift move, Chivayo’s Edenbreeze Pvt Ltd and IMC Technologies secured contracts worth US$100 million and US$120 million.

Poof! Problem solved.

That’s not corruption, that’s innovation.

But wait, there’s more!

Mavetera’s song has sparked a nationwide digital revolution.

Postal services are now personally delivering emails via donkey cart.

Banks have swapped out ATMs for abacuses with built-in Wi-Fi.

Hospitals are diagnosing patients through TikTok filters.

Donkey carts are now equipped with GPS.

In fact, Zimbabwe has not only embraced ICT, it’s rewriting the rulebook.

Her song is the soundtrack of Vision 2030, where Zimbabwe aims to become a middle-income economy or at least a middle-income karaoke bar.

Long live Mavetera, the Beyonce of ICT!
