The “America First” policy of Donald Trump’s government has now found new takers in the form of two African presidents, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa of South Africa.
Matamela and Dambudzo are willing to go to any extent to massage Trump’s ego, including putting aside their dignity.
It’s safe to say that both Mnangagwa and Ramaphosa have so far outshined some of the biggest American puppets, like Moise Tshombe.
Last week, South African leader Ramaphosa literally crawled at Trump’s feet, begging Uncle Sam to come and invest in the Southern African nation at the expense of his people getting back their land.
African founding fathers like Julius Nyerere and Kwame Nkrumah might have turned in their graves seeing Ramaphosa at pains trying to debunk Trump’s fictitious white genocide.
In Ruka Chivende, Ramaphosa has a partner in crime.
Mnangagwa was the first to crawl under Trump’s feet, announcing that he had removed tariffs on all American products.
However, Trump’s ego is difficult to please.
The drama king of Capitol simply ignored it, as if nothing had happened.
