In a shocking turn of events, ZIMSEC examiners have reportedly stumbled upon an ancient art of survival that allows them to invigilate and mark exams for weeks without receiving allowances

Evidence from marking centers reveal that the examiners have been subsisting on a diet of thin air and determination. The occasional transport allowance that is insufficient is handed as a “gift” and is promptly rejected by some examiners in protest.

“We’re not sure how they’re doing it,” said a ZIMSEC official, “but it’s like they’ve discovered a hidden skill that sustains them at marking centers despite the lack of pay.”

As the examiners toil away for hours, fueled by nothing but their passion and pride for education , they’ve begun to exhibit superhuman characteristics.

“I saw one examiner mark an entire script with her eyes closed,” said a colleague. “I’m pretty sure she was in a trance-like state, sustained solely by her outrage at the lack of allowance.”

Zimsec is considering introducing research questions like “How to survive without pay for extended periods of time.” Examiners will be expected to provide detailed answers prior to any Zimsec activity to come.
