ZBC Coverage Of Chivhayo Justifies Broadcasting Services Ammendment Bill

In a week where the Broadcasting Services Ammendment Bill passed through Parliament like hot knife on margarine, ZBC chose the moment to remind citizens why their licenses must be mandatory.

“Pay for your ZBC licence and witness coverage of zvigananda”, the message was clear from the national broadcaster.

A whole national broadcaster pulled a first in the history of public broadcasting in Zimbabwe if not the entire universe. The ‘public broadcaster’ became the first national broadcaster to cover live a lobola ceremony of two ordinary citizens.

But Chivhayo keeps on breaking records! Not even Bona Mugabe’s lobola ceremony was covered live by ZBC.

ZBC is right after all, citizens had to witness how corruption proceeds from ZEC and ZESA tenders are spent on lobola day.

What a way by ZBC management to ask for Aqua cars from the car dishing tenderprenuer! After beaming Chivhayo lobola ceremony live, surely the powers that be at ZBC must get prepared to see Victor now.
