Another week, another “Yuhwi” from Washington.

The Americans, our forever pen pals, have sent their annual love letter — a human rights report.

Every year, new faces, same script, our beloved teapot nation is accused of human rights violations, crackdown on democracy and the civic space and somehow sanctions are the cure.

It’s like a tired ZBC rerun of the jiggle “Rambai Makasinga” only this time produced in Hollywood.

Apparently, the Trump administration and their Biden cousins think they can mark our homework.

Pathetic.

Imagine a hyena writing a report on goat security.

That’s the US lecturing Zimbabwe about democracy.

Let’s talk “violations.”

Gukurahundi was described by Robert Mugabe as a “necessary evil,” but we know it was meant to thwart dissent that had a Ndebele ethnic outlook and establish a one party state.

Of course the chaotic land reform “was another necessary evil” to correct the economic transgressions of colonialism.

Beating thousands of opposition supporters, and killing a few on August 1, 2018, yes true patriots, it was another deluxe of necessary evil.

Who honestly expects our beloved ZANU PF which the “army, police, the judiciary” to hand over power peacefully?

Our beloved leader Ruka Chivende told us about “shamhu inemhunyu” which brings about societal order keeping dissent and regime change agents in check.

The US report cries that perpetrators are never prosecuted.

But how do you prosecute yourself?

That’s like expecting a thief to report missing car batteries at CID HQ.

We know who took them.

“Hakuna nyaya, akula ndaba, there is no issue.”

Sanctions, of course, remain the evergreen scapegoat.

They explain everything.

Journalists getting arrested, it’s sanctions.

Union leaders abducted at the airport it’s sanctions again.

Teachers demanding salaries in US dollars, it’s definitely sanctions.

Even the potholes on Samora Machel Avenue are probably sanctioned.

Washington says we use journalists as punching bags.

But honestly, journalists here behave like prophets of doom, exposing corruption and the ugly truth about how our Chinese investors are causing environmental degradation and ecological disasters that will affect generations to come.

That’s why we made sure those overzealous scribes are poorly paid and can barely pay rent

Professor Jonathan Moyo once called them terrorists disguised as reporters.

The self appointed prophet of doom Hopewell Chin’ono, who is ever lamenting about corruption  probably has that line engraved on his Twitter bio.

True patriots, the icing on the cake is that this US report ignores ZANU PF’s staying power

ZANU PF, the ruling party is like Maputi — it expands under heat.

Torture, tick.

Murder, tick.

State sponsored corruption, again tick.

Even if it means “disciplining” children, the revolutionary grip remains firm.

So, dear America, keep your annual fairy tales.

As long as ZANU PF is alive, the “Second Republic” will keep producing sequels.

Call it the rule by “iron fist.”
